Sequence Flow
A new Advanced Survey section type: give respondents a pool of items and let them build their own ordered sequence, one tap at a time, in any order they like - a workflow, a priority list, a navigation structure, whatever the order is meant to represent. Analysis surfaces the single route that best represents everyone (Route Flow) alongside the fuller picture of how opinion actually splits (Route Network), instead of just an averaged per-item rank.
Rank only what matters
Ranking questions - in a Classic Survey or inside Sequence Flow - can now ask respondents to place just a subset of the items instead of the full list. Offer 25 options but only require ranking the top 10, for example, so respondents spend effort on the part of the list you actually care about.
Survey progress is saved automatically
If a respondent's browser closes or their connection drops mid-survey, reopening the same link now resumes exactly where they left off - already-given answers included - instead of starting over. Applies to both Chat-Based and Traditional Form View.
Text Blocks
Drop in formatted, read-only text between questions - instructions, context, or a stimulus setup - with the same bold/italic/underline/bullet formatting as any question. In the chat-based survey it displays for a duration you set, then auto-advances (or respondents can tap to continue right away); in the traditional form view it just appears with no input needed.
Reusable Survey Templates
Save any survey - Classic or Advanced - as a template, then start a brand new one from it in a click. A template is a self-contained snapshot, so editing or deleting the original survey afterward never touches templates already saved from it. Tag your own templates to keep them organized, and browse the public template gallery for ready-made starting points.
In-app reporting for panel issues
If something goes wrong with a panel wave, you can now report it directly from inside Opionate instead of chasing it down elsewhere - platform staff pick it up and resolve it on the panel provider's own dashboard on your behalf.
Credit system rebuilt on hold/capture/release
Credits now move through an escrow model: a job holds what it might need, captures only what it actually used, and automatically releases the rest back to your balance. No change to your free signup credits.
Panel Recruitment
Recruit real respondents without leaving Opionate. Set a target sample size and reward, launch a wave, and track Approved / Screened Out / Rejected outcomes with a transparent, per-outcome credit breakdown - you're only ever charged for Approved and Screened Out submissions.
Pairwise Comparison
Head-to-head, King-of-the-Hill-style testing of 2-12 images, run as Randomized or League-based rounds - built for fast "which one wins" concept testing.
Stimulus Testing
Show respondents an image, video, or text stimulus and let them highlight the specific regions they're reacting to - highlights can be linked directly to individual questions.
2-Step AI Text Analytics
Open-ended responses are now coded in two supervised steps: AI proposes a set of themes for you to edit or delete, then classifies every response against your approved framework. An AI Confidence Range filter surfaces low-confidence classifications for manual review and recoding.
Reporting rebuilt: dashboards, cross-tabs & native PPT export
Replaced Prompt to Analysis with the current reporting experience: instant question-level results, automated cross-tabulations, and one-click export to fully native, editable PowerPoint charts - not flattened images.

The QRE-based Survey Builder: structured section types (Questions Only, Stimulus, Pairwise Comparison), a full question-type library, display and screen-out logic, AI Follow-up on open-ended questions, and both a traditional form view and a chat-based rendering of the same survey.
First launch, under an earlier version of the product
The earliest version of this company went live with just two things: an Insights content feed, and an AI assistant that read and summarized articles for you. The survey platform you see today didn't exist yet - it was built from the ground up starting the following year.
