The practical things we do to keep your account and your data safe.
Encrypted in transit
Every connection to Opionate is forced over HTTPS, with strict transport security enabled - your browser is never allowed to fall back to an unencrypted connection.
Passwords, handled properly
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text, with strength requirements enforced at signup. Signing in with Google is also supported, so there's no password for us to store at all.
Delete your account, yourself
Account deletion is self-service, right from your account settings - no support ticket required, no waiting on us.
Backed up automatically
Weekly automated backups are taken and stored separately from the main server, with older backups automatically rotated out - so a recent snapshot is always available if something goes wrong.
Consent, not assumption
Analytics only start collecting after you explicitly grant consent, following Google's Consent Mode v2 - and you can change your choice at any time.
Bot & spam protection
Sign-up, login, contact, and public survey forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, keeping automated abuse out without adding friction for real people.
We never see your card
Payments are processed directly by PayPal. Your card or bank details never pass through Opionate's servers at all.
Who we share data with
Running the product means a small number of specialized providers see some of your data - here's who, and why.
- Google Gemini - survey responses are sent to Gemini when you use an AI feature (theme suggestions, classification, AI Follow-up, prompt-based analysis). Nothing is sent unless the feature is used.
- PayPal - handles payment processing when you buy AI credits. See above: we don't store your payment details.
- ZeptoMail - delivers transactional email, like verification links and account notifications.
- Bunny CDN - stores and delivers the images and video you upload for Stimulus Tests.
- Panel provider - if you recruit respondents through Opionate's Panel feature, their recruitment and screening happens on the panel provider's platform.
