Exporting Classified Responses with Confidence Scores¶
Text Analytics results don't have to stay inside Opionate to be useful. Once responses are classified, exporting them gives you a clean record of every response, its category, and (if you choose) how confident the classification was - ready for a spreadsheet, a client deliverable, or a second reviewer working outside the platform.
What's Included in an Export¶
An export of classified results includes each response's original verbatim text alongside its assigned category, so nothing is separated from its source - you're never looking at a category count without being able to trace it back to what respondents actually said.
Including Confidence Scores¶
The export includes an option to add each response's confidence score alongside its category assignment. Turn this on when you want a reviewer - a teammate, a client, or your future self revisiting the data later - to see the same certainty signal you had access to inside Opionate, rather than presenting every classification as equally certain. Manually Corrected Responses¶
A response you've manually corrected (see Reviewing and Correcting Individual AI Classifications) exports with its corrected category - the export reflects the current state of your results, including any review work you've done, not the original AI-generated pass.
When to Export vs. Build a Report Directly¶
Exporting is the right move when you need the underlying data itself - for a client deliverable, an external audit, or further analysis outside Opionate. If what you actually want is a chart or visual summary of the categories, building the results directly into Reporting (see Building Your First Report) skips the export step entirely and stays live as more responses come in.

What file format does the export use?
Check the export dialog for currently available formats - the export is built to open cleanly in standard spreadsheet software.
Does the export include responses I haven't reviewed yet?
Yes - the export includes every classified response regardless of whether you've manually reviewed it, so you can choose to do your review in the exported file instead of inside Opionate if you prefer.
Can I export just one category instead of all of them?
Check your results view for filtering options before exporting - filtering to a specific category first, then exporting, is generally how to get a narrower export.
Does exporting cost credits?
No - exporting already-classified results is free. Credits apply to generating categories and running classification, not to exporting the output afterward.
If I export, then correct more responses, does the old export update automatically?
No - an export is a snapshot at the moment you generate it. Export again after further review to get a file reflecting your latest corrections.
