If you sign up for Opionate with an email address and password, you'll need to verify that email before your account is fully usable. It's a small extra step, and it exists for a real reason.
Why Verification Is Required¶
Requiring email verification confirms that the email address on your account actually belongs to you and is one you have access to - which matters for account recovery, for making sure billing and important notifications reach you, and for keeping the platform from accumulating accounts created with addresses nobody can actually access.
How It Works¶
After signing up with an email and password, you'll receive a verification email with a link to confirm your address. Until that verification is completed, your account has limited functionality - clicking the link finishes the process and unlocks full access.
Signing Up with Google Instead¶
If you sign up using Google sign-in rather than an email and password, a separate email verification step isn't required - Google's own account verification already confirms you have access to that email address. See Google Sign-In and Account Security for more.
What to Do If You Don't Receive the Email¶
Check your spam or junk folder first, since a first email from a new sender sometimes lands there. If it's genuinely not arriving, check your account settings for an option to resend the verification email, or reach out through Opionate's support channel if the issue persists.
