Panel Recruitment FAQ¶
Quick answers to common questions about Panel Recruitment - Opionate's live respondent panel for surveys that need real respondents you don't already have access to. For a fuller walkthrough, see our Introduction to Panel Recruitment.
Getting Started¶
How big is the panel, and where are respondents from?¶
More than 300,000 real respondents, active across 38+ countries, filterable by age, country, employment status, and 300+ other screening criteria.
Is this a marketplace where I choose between different panel providers?¶
No - Panel Recruitment is a single-provider integration, one live pipeline built directly into Opionate rather than a menu of competing vendors.
Do I need a separate account or tool to use it?¶
No - it's built directly into your workspace. Define your audience, fund a wave, and responses land in the same results as the rest of your survey.
Pricing and Charging¶
How is the per-response reward decided?¶
Opionate computes a minimum reward based on your survey's estimated completion time - you can offer more than that floor, but never less. You'll see the total estimated cost before you commit to launching.
What am I actually charged for?¶
Only submissions that reach a genuine outcome: an approved response at your full offered reward, or a screened-out response (someone who didn't qualify past your screening) at a smaller, fixed rate set automatically. Submissions that never finish, or that time out, aren't charged.
Can I change the reward after a wave is live?¶
No - reward, screening criteria, and target response count are all locked in once a wave launches. If you need different terms, launch a new wave instead.
Managing a Wave¶
Can I run more than one wave for the same survey?¶
Yes - there's no limit. A survey can have any number of waves over its lifetime, and any number of them can be running at the same time.
Does Opionate automatically refresh a wave's status for me?¶
No - reconciling a wave's current status happens on demand rather than continuously in the background, so use the Refresh action inside the wave to pull the latest picture.
Why was my wave automatically paused?¶
An unusually high share of respondents starting a wave and not finishing it triggers an automatic protective pause - you'll see a plain-language explanation when this happens. It's worth checking your survey for anything that might be causing early drop-off (a broken question, a screening mismatch) before resuming.
My wave is filling too slowly. What can I do?¶
You can't edit an already-launched wave's reward or criteria - launch a new wave with adjusted settings instead. There's no requirement to stop the slow one first.
When Something Goes Wrong¶
Can I approve or reject individual submissions myself?¶
No - there's no in-app approve/reject step. Every submission is resolved through the panel provider's own process.
What if a specific submission genuinely needs a second look?¶
File a report from inside the wave. The categories available are: a wave stuck waiting for review, suspected low-quality submissions, a payment or reward issue, and a technical issue with the study. Platform staff follow up directly with the provider on your behalf.
What happens to responses already collected if I stop a wave early?¶
Submissions already in progress or completed are still resolved and charged according to their outcome - stopping a wave only affects new respondents going forward, not ones already recruited.
