Take Experiences¶

What's the difference between Chat Interface and Traditional Form?¶

Chat Interface shows one question at a time, conversationally. Traditional Form shows a standard, more scannable form layout. See Chat vs. Traditional: Choosing How Respondents Take Your Survey.

Is there a separate mobile version?¶

No - both take experiences adapt to any screen size automatically. See Taking a Survey on Mobile vs. Desktop: What Changes.

Progress and Resuming¶

If I close the survey partway through, will I lose my progress?¶

No - progress is saved automatically, and reopening the same link on the same device resumes where you left off. See How Respondents Resume an In-Progress Survey.

Does this work for every section type?¶

Almost every one - the one exception is a Pairwise Comparison tournament, which restarts from the beginning of that section if you reload mid-tournament, though you're never stuck or locked out.

What Respondents Encounter¶

Why did the survey suddenly ask me something that felt like a follow-up to my last answer?¶

That's AI Follow-up Questions - a dynamic question generated based on your specific answer, available on open-ended questions in Chat Interface. See AI Follow-up Questions From the Respondent's Side.

Why did my survey end early?¶

You may have been screened out based on a screening question's answer - see Screening and Disqualification: What a Respondent Sees. It's not an error; it means you didn't match the study's target audience.

Is my data anonymous?¶

That depends on the specific survey and how the owner designed it - see Respondent Anonymity: What Opionate Does and Doesn't Guarantee. Look for the consent information shown before you start for details specific to that survey.

Completing the Survey¶

What happens when I finish?¶

You'll see a completion confirmation, and in some cases you may be redirected to another page (common for surveys tied to a panel study). See What Happens When a Respondent Completes Your Survey.

Can I go back and change an earlier answer after submitting?¶

Once you've submitted your final response, it's recorded - check with whoever sent you the survey if you need to report an error after the fact, since respondent-side self-editing after full submission generally isn't available.
